Objectives

The objectives of The Second World War Military Operations Research Group is to:

  1. To serve as an academic focal point for the diverse range of historians working on operational aspects of the Second World War in the United Kingdom
  2. To develop a strategy for the research of operational aspects of the Second World War in the United Kingdom
  3. To develop and sustain links with historians working in the field within the United Kingdom
  4. To encourage growth and divergence in the approaches to the study of the operational aspects of the Second World War
  5. To examine and develop collaborative research projects in its research fields
  6. To pursue appropriate funding for such projects
  7. To disseminate research and publications to educate the wider public through positive engagement with the media and associated bodies
  8. To organise conferences, symposia, and day schools in the field of the operational aspects of the Second World War in order to educate the wider public through engagement
  9. To promote the publication of high-quality scholarship in the field of operational military history with a focus on the Second World War
